Hello again

I am back after taking almost 4 weeks to blog. My, my it has been a while. I will be adding 4 blog entries, including this one.

For the past 3 weeks, I have started working out at a local gym. Boy does it feel great to workout again! My Mom goes in the early morning and then I come to the gym with the girls. While I work out my Mom takes them back to her house. It works out wonderfully and I am so enjoying the time I have by myself. The gym is very small so there may only be 1 or 2 people working out while I am there - if any at all!

Also, the past 2 weeks have been swimming lessons for Eva. We were in the Parent and Toddler class this year, which means it is a parent-assisted class. Eva seemed to have fun (if you look past the screaming and crying she sometimes let out). We sang some great songs in class while learning vital skills - "The Wheels on the Bus", "I Had a Little Turtle", "Roll-over, Roll-over", "Ring Around the Otter", and "Motorboat, Motorboat". Although she was a tad hesitant when it came to the instructor. See, he was a young man who had a scruffy beard and body hair. He also wore aviator glasses during the lessons. Here was a conversation I had with Eva one day after a lesson:

Me: Eva, did you like swimming lessons today?
Eva: Yeah.
Me: Then why were you crying?
Eva: (silence)
Me: Do you not like the man? (She calls the instructor "the man".)
Eva: No.
Me: Why don't you like the man?
Eva: Scared.
Me: Why are you scared of the man?
Eva: (silence)
Me: Do you like his glasses?
Eva: Yes.
Me: Do you like his hair?
Eva: No.
Me: Do you like his swimsuit?
Eva: Yes.
Me: Do you like when he moves your arms or legs?
Eva: No.

Here are a few pictures from lessons...
In this first one, the kids are practicing their kicking. Eva and I have our backs to the camera.

Here is a picture of our class in the pool. I am hidden behind Eva who is sitting on the edge of the pool. The kids wore life jackets for part of the class this day.

On the last day of classes, the kids had about 15 minutes of free time, where they can just play in the pool. The bigger kids (40 inches and taller) can go down the slides and the lifeguards turn on the water "toys" (things that spray out water, dump out water, and rain down on the kids) in the beach entry pool. Eva really enjoyed the beach entry because she was able to walk through the water and go a ways in (up to her chin she went!).

This is so cool. I remember when I was little and went to swimming lessons at the outdoor pool. They don't do that here anymore:( Seeing how beautiful it is there, I want to move there too. (If only we didn't have so much family here).

I really miss you guys and hope to come and see you guys soon.
