Hello again

I am back after taking almost 4 weeks to blog. My, my it has been a while. I will be adding 4 blog entries, including this one.

For the past 3 weeks, I have started working out at a local gym. Boy does it feel great to workout again! My Mom goes in the early morning and then I come to the gym with the girls. While I work out my Mom takes them back to her house. It works out wonderfully and I am so enjoying the time I have by myself. The gym is very small so there may only be 1 or 2 people working out while I am there - if any at all!

Also, the past 2 weeks have been swimming lessons for Eva. We were in the Parent and Toddler class this year, which means it is a parent-assisted class. Eva seemed to have fun (if you look past the screaming and crying she sometimes let out). We sang some great songs in class while learning vital skills - "The Wheels on the Bus", "I Had a Little Turtle", "Roll-over, Roll-over", "Ring Around the Otter", and "Motorboat, Motorboat". Although she was a tad hesitant when it came to the instructor. See, he was a young man who had a scruffy beard and body hair. He also wore aviator glasses during the lessons. Here was a conversation I had with Eva one day after a lesson:

Me: Eva, did you like swimming lessons today?
Eva: Yeah.
Me: Then why were you crying?
Eva: (silence)
Me: Do you not like the man? (She calls the instructor "the man".)
Eva: No.
Me: Why don't you like the man?
Eva: Scared.
Me: Why are you scared of the man?
Eva: (silence)
Me: Do you like his glasses?
Eva: Yes.
Me: Do you like his hair?
Eva: No.
Me: Do you like his swimsuit?
Eva: Yes.
Me: Do you like when he moves your arms or legs?
Eva: No.

Here are a few pictures from lessons...
In this first one, the kids are practicing their kicking. Eva and I have our backs to the camera.

Here is a picture of our class in the pool. I am hidden behind Eva who is sitting on the edge of the pool. The kids wore life jackets for part of the class this day.

On the last day of classes, the kids had about 15 minutes of free time, where they can just play in the pool. The bigger kids (40 inches and taller) can go down the slides and the lifeguards turn on the water "toys" (things that spray out water, dump out water, and rain down on the kids) in the beach entry pool. Eva really enjoyed the beach entry because she was able to walk through the water and go a ways in (up to her chin she went!).

Our two little girls

Eva has been a good helper when it comes to Sophia. She will let me know when Sophia is crying (as though I can't hear her!); if she thinks Sophia went potty in her diaper; she helps with changing Sophia's diaper; and with giving Sophia her binky. Eva will also give Sophia kisses and hugs and likes to smell her head : ) .

Eva is turning into a good big sister!

Some pictures of Sophia : )

Wow, Sophia is over 7 weeks old already. She has been such a smiley and happy little baby girl. Her eyes are so BIG and she shows a lot of expression with them. I was hoping to have a brown-eyed girl, since I have brown eyes, but it is looking as though we will have another blue-eyed cutie!

Low Rider

Eva has a new tricycle over at Mama and Papa's house and she is having fun riding it around their patio.

Here are a few more pictures of my little blue-eyed girl. The butterfly she is laying on is in a McDonald's play area we were in.

Where has the time gone??

I want to say I am sorry to those of you that have been checking this blog faithfully for the past 3 weeks, waiting to see some new pictures or an update. It is amazing how the time has flown. What else is amazing is the amount of time I don't seem to have now that I have 2 little ones around the house! If one isn't wanting my complete attention (Eva), the other is needing my attention (Sophia). I finally got around to adding some of the latest photos, so please enjoy the new entries...

Last week, Shane's mom (Kathy), sister (Gwen), and our 6 year old nieces (Abby and Emma) came down for a visit and to meet Sophia. Eva really had a blast playing with Abby and Emma, which was a nice break for me! : ) And with Kathy and Gwen looking after Sophia, well, I was sort of spoiled. Boy was it a crash back to the real world when they flew home!

Here is Gwen, Abby, Emma and Eva at In-and-Out...

Eva wanted to wear pigtails one day, so Abby and Emma joined in!

On our way back from the park, the girls stopped to frolick in the pooled water from over-run sprinklers... I think Eva enjoyed it the most!

This last picture is everyone with an April or May birthday - Gwen and Eva in April & Abby, Emma, Sophia and me in May. We had one big birthday party!

Sisters...

Here are two pictures of the sisters. Someday I hope they will call themselves best friends!

In these last two photos, can you tell which is Eva and which is Sophia? The answer is at the bottom.

The top picture is Sophia at 10 days old and the bottom is Eva at 7 days old!

Growing like a weed!

Our little baby is surely growing like a weed! Sophia is bigger than Eva was at her age. Here she is at a mere 4 days old...

In this picture, she is 12 days old and is wearing my dress from 34 years ago!

Sophia is 20 days old...

Here she is at 24 days old...

This first month has seemed to fly by!!

What has Eva been up to?

The restaurant we went to one night had the perfect size cones for an "Eva-size" ice cream cone. This was the first ice cream cone Eva had!

My torch cactus only had 2 blooms this year, but they were still beautiful. Eva loves to smell the flowers!

We finally enjoyed some wonderfully needed rain on May 22nd! So Eva finally was able to use her raincoat and rain boots and loved splashing in the rain. : )

Just this past Sunday, Eva was "reading" the Sunday paper with Daddy. She pulled over her little chair in order to sit by him. What a cutie!
