Enjoying January

Today we played outside for a little bit because the weather was SO beautiful! Sophia crawled on the grass for the first time - she never used to like the feel of it. Eva loves to play in her "dirt" (decomposed granite) and carry the "food" around on her scooter.

Going for a walk...

Eva so loves going to the park. For the past few months, it has mainly been Daddy bringing her there because I stay at home with Sophia. Well, when Eva wanted to go and Shane said he would try bringing Sophia for the first time, I thought it would be nice if I actually partook in the fun!

So here we are heading to the park... What somber faces as they head to FUN :)

Having fun on a slide...

Getting the sand out of the shoes... Notice how dark it is getting (we started late).

Sophia is on a rocking dinosaur. She holds on so well :)

Goldfield Ghost Town

We were able to spend some time with friends of ours, Garth and Richelle, when they were down here in Arizona. We decided to take them to see Goldfield Ghost Town , a mining town from the turn of the century (1900). Although Shane and I have been there a number of times, we had yet to take the train tour, go in the mine tour, or even see the gunfights! It was a lot of fun to be able to share this with Garth and Richelle!

Here is the train as it came into the station...

Eva has come to like trains (in part by her soon-to-be-Uncle Shane giving her the book The Little Engine That Could). So she was really excited waiting for the train...

Here we all are on the train - alright, I am missing, but someone had to take the picture!

This is the town with the Superstition Mountain in the background...

Now we are coming into the station...

Eva was a little leery of this "man"... : )

It was an absolutely beautiful day - we couldn't have asked for a better January day and the view is always amazing!

Finally some Christmas pictures...

I am terribly sorry for not getting around to posting some Christmas pictures any sooner! It's not that life has been that hectic, I just haven't spent much time on the computer lately. Okay, maybe I am trying to get too many things done, but it may also be from playing with the girls and all the new toys they have from Christmas!

These first pictures are of opening presents Christmas morning...

The next pictures are of Eva and Sophia in their Christmas dresses at Grandma and Grandpa's house. I believe these are their first matching outfits/dresses! (Of many, I am sure!)

Check out my teeth! (Eva's above and Sophia's below...)

Eva is riding her tricycle that is at Mama and Papa's house - she has a circular path through their house that she likes to ride. : )

Here is our family...

And then it was time to open presents at Grandma and Grandpa's house...
Sophia liked her Cabbage Patch Kid!

And her new train that plays music and counts and teaches colors...

Eva loves books. One of the books she got has SO MANY flaps to open - so much fun!!

Best of all though, was the swing that Santa put up at Grandma and Grandpa's house! She loves to swing and I believe that she would around the clock if we let her! : )

Happy New Year

The other day I heard someone say that if you live your life the best that you can then you really shouldn't need to make resolutions. I thought that made a lot of sense! Not that I usually make them (because they can be hard to keep for a whole year!), but I would like to get to that point where there isn't really anything I could make a resolution about!!

However, starting in 2009, I want to be an even better wife and Mom than I am now. That is my BIG promise to my wonderful husband, Shane, and my 2 beautiful girls, Evangeline and Sophia.

May this year be a wonderful, meaningful, and blessed year for you all!
