Sad news

Well, unfortunately we are postponing the potty training to a later date. Not only is it a time of learning for Eva, but also for me.
I am sad because I may have contributed to the failure today not only with what I said, but quite possibly how I said it. I also feel as though Eva is not quite ready herself. I believe that my reminding her to "let me know she has to go to the bathroom 'before' going in her training pants" each time she had an accident started to make her feel like a disappointment to me. That is most certainly not my intention and completely broke my heart when she started to cry after one of my reminders. Eva then didn't care about the stickers, the praise, or wearing her "big-girl" underwear.
We will try again in a few weeks to a month and I will most definitely bring my "patience A-game"!!
One positive note - we did have one small success!

If anyone cares to share a tried and true method of how they went through potty training, I would love to read it!

Potty Training!

Yes, it is that time. That beloved event when you try to train your child to use the potty.

Today, Eva begins that journey. She seems ready and willing, so we will let you know how it all goes! Wish us luck!! : )

Little Bunny Foo Foo

For a week now, we have noticed some "droppings" in our grass that looked a lot like they came from a rabbit. However, since we don't leave our gate open, nor do we own a rabbit, we were wondering where these mysteriously came from. How could a rabbit jump our 6 foot high walls?
This evening we got our answer. We finally saw the little guy at work "mowing" our grass. When Eva went out to "get the rabbit", he took off like a bolt of lightning to the side of our house and scurried through the water drainage block into the front yard.

Mystery solved!

Shane's family

This past week Shane's Mom and Dad came down for a visit. Shane's Mom, Kathy, flew down from South Dakota for the weekend.

Shane's Dad drove his motorcycle from Minnesota and was able to stay a week with us. We couldn't get a picture of Eva and Sophia with Grandpa Gerry - Eva did not want to stand by him for some reason. She did when the rest of us were in the picture!

It was a lot of fun having them here! Eva enjoyed having some other people to read to her and play with her and I know Sophia enjoyed the extra attention and arms to hold her! : )
